Student’s wrote letters to veterans and colored a patriotic scene to show their appreciation for all of their bravery and sacrifices.
We also researched about Native American territories and tribes. Students created a lapbook about the tribes in different territories and learned about their homes, artifacts, and food. Students were assigned a tribe from one of the territories and researched about the tribe’s homes, food, customs, art, tools and weapons and famous Native Americans from that tribe. Based on their research, each tribe then created an iMovie trailer and presented their findings and their iMovie production about their tribe. Students also learned about totem poles and the region those are created. Then students created their own piece to add to our class totem pole.
Students also worked in their teams to complete two Thanksgiving STEM challenges. Created a Mayflower to hold the pilgrims (the most successful held 115 pilgrims/pennies) and they created a turkey hideout to keep a turkey safe from Thanksgiving dinner!
