This week, we celebrated West Virginia Disability History Week at Ripley Elementary!

Throughout the week, our students learned about different disabilities, celebrated the accomplishments of individuals with disabilities, and talked about the importance of kindness, acceptance, understanding, and inclusion.

One of my favorite parts of the week was our school-wide project, “Linked Together by Kindness and Love!” 💕

Students throughout the school created colorful paper links with messages of kindness, love, and inclusion. Each hallway worked together to create a chain, and those chains stretched through our school to meet in the middle at our “Everyone Belongs Here” display! 🫶

Each link represents a student, a kind word, and a reminder that we are all connected. Just like our paper chains, we are stronger when we come together!

A huge thank-you to all of our teachers, staff, and students who helped make this project possible!

💙 Different abilities. Different strengths. ONE SCHOOL FAMILY!

🌈 Everyone belongs here—not just this week, but EVERY day! ❤️
