Good evening. On April 8, 2024, Jackson County will experience a Solar Eclipse with a magnitude of 94.7%. The height of the eclipse will be around 3:13 p.m., coinciding with dismissal times for many of our schools. Jackson County Schools has taken a proactive approach to this occurrence by purchasing special glasses for our students so they can experience this spectacular event, which will not occur again until 2044. Last week, guardians should have received a letter from our school system explaining the procedures we have in place for the eclipse as safety is always our top concern. If you did not receive the letter, please visit our website and click on “Solar Eclipse Information” on the left side of our webpage. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
