The staff and students of Fairplain Elementary are happy to welcome our new principal, Tonia Carpenter!! Originally from Charleston, Ms. Carpenter now calls Jackson County her home. She graduated from Glenville State College in 1996. She taught for about 16 years before she was called to become our principal. She most recently taught 8th grade at Ripley Middle School.
Ms. Carpenter has two grown children that she is very proud of! Austen, who is active duty in the United States Army and Regan, who attends Concord College. If you have been at Fairplain Elementary in the morning you've likely seen her smiling dancing self greeting the children as they arrive for the day. You can find her in the classrooms and in the hallways always working toward her main goal, she wants to "make our school the place your student wants to come to everyday!"
